Wait does that mean Adam Ellis could have stolen the real-time horror thing from you?
lmao no like real-time horror / ar storytelling has been around a long time. If you wanna be specific the War of the Worlds radio broadcast in the 1938 was probably the first popular/modern use of it. It just wasn’t as common to see on the internet until recently so it was harder to spot what was real and what was fake. Adam Ellis did his story and got a movie deal out of it so like, tons of people know about the genre now and know the hallmarks of what makes it fake vs real. Plus he put like actual photo editing and shit into his story, I just spit out some garbage and slapped it online

Nakey Nakey Man was the first time I was exposed to augmented reality storytelling. It wasnt as common back then and even people that did know about it got thrown for a loop because it came out of nowhere from someone who has nothing to do with creepypasta type stuff. It was like Adam Ellis's Dear David.
Tru. I was involved with creepypasta and spooky shit back then but I kept it to side blogs and stuff and kept it pretty separate from my normal content so not many people knew.
I actually just looked up when Adam started doing DD and this all went down like a year BEFORE he started his thing and I feel like considering he was already a famous Buzzfeed dude, his story popularized the genre so I’m glad I got my story out beforehand lol.
