I got a request for a nighttime/space background with a purple sky and yellow stars, so I mucked around for a bit and here’s what I came up with

it’s not strictly pixel art because I used lots of gradients but w/e

if you wanna use this you can and I’d personally suggest setting it to repeat-x, attaching it to the bottom of the window and making the background colour the same colour as the very top of the image. credit is appreciated but not required, just don’t claim them as your own.

Right now, in the province of British Columbia, Canada, there are 170 burning wildfires. This is the result. A smoke filled sky with an eery orange glow. You can barely see the sky. Please be cautious in this dry weather!

the sky was literally purple last night

Canada’s northernmost capital city, Iqaluit, briefly turned pink and purple on January 12th, 2016. A CBC meteorologist explained that the incident was most likely due to a phenomenon called light scattering, which is caused by the refraction of the setting sun on particles in the atmosphere. Neither of these two pictures have been edited.
