Mood.

Watching it at 10 wasn’t much of a better experience, either.

13 here. Teacher walked in, told us we were under attack and then left the room. I’m in New York City. We had parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts who were in Manhattan or a first responder in that class. She left us alone  and no one came to check up us for 45 minutes. 

And that’s pretty much how it’s been since. 

There were a few people who had worked in the towers that graduated from my high school. There was a memorial in the main hallway that they backlit with the hall lights off every 9/11 and idk I guess I’m just an emotional person but it always got to me. I went to an inner city school that was hardly trusted with plastic butter knives but they lit tea candles in front of the memorial every year and no one ever dared to touch them
