Let me elaborate. iPhones are what, $500-$600? Androids can be as cheap as $100, cheaper still if its not a smart phone. iPhones are one of the most expensive brands on the market and Not Everyone Can Fucking Afford It. People get androids for a variety of reasons, price being a big one. And then you have to listen to pretentious assholes shit on you for having an “ugly piece of shit phone”. Sorry my mom can’t shell out $600 every time a new iPhone comes out like yours can.

I think that’s a fair point but isn’t it true also that you can get them so significantly cheaper with and upgrade? Like my friend had to replace his recently and he said he only had to pay for the shipping and 20$ extra on his bill for 14 months and that comes out to be about 280$? I mean maybe that also applies to androids idk?

Yeah but how are you gonna afford to buy into it? You have to buy a $500 phone to get into the upgrade cycle. And with the upgrade cycle you only pay the difference between your model and the newer model. Same with androids, but android starting prices are, depending on phone, as low as $100. iPhones don’t get that cheap, and even if you did get an iPhone that cheap, you’d still end up paying the difference for a newer model. You buy a $100 iPhone and want to upgrade to a $600 current model? You’re gonna pay $500 for it. With androids you don’t have to do that if you don’t want to because even newer models (depending on model and company) aren’t that expensive. It all comes back to base prices in the end.
