a while back, ghostbong bought a very cheap, very used Roomba from craigslist. ”so, you’re going to ‘hack’ this, right?” said the man at the parking lot rendezvous. but we just wanted a vacuum. since then, the addition of the word “robot” to our casual, every-day lexicon is continually jarring, as if even living in the future will give you future-shock.
doing maintenance on the robot. the robot is stuck on a cord. the robot ate a sock. the robot ran out of power before it got back to its charging station. the robot knocked something over. it doesn’t help that the Roomba programmers saw fit to outfit the little thing with a series of Artoo-like MIDI scales and honks, to convey the mood of its message: docking successfully produces a tiny fanfare, and getting its brushes jammed on a foreign object makes it cry out in sad distress. do i verbally reassure the robot when i pull a wad of cat hair and bread bag tabs out of its works and set it back down on the floor? you bet i do.
but the larger point is that it is now possible no for me to say (or type) out loud and without irony, sarcasm, or any kind of fictitiousness: “the robot knocked over the kitten’s water dish >:I “
the future is here, and it is me on my knees on the floor yanking hairballs out of a domestic droid while it softly boops at me
this may be my favorite post in the history of tumblr

how can i find out my school's ip address n how can i block em from my blog cuz yeah
Alright les go
First you need to install http://statcounter.com/ on your blog. You make an account, and they give you a chunk of code to put at the top of your blog. (The best part is that you can have multiple “projects” or blogs under on account, perfect for sideblogs).
To create the code, go to this screen, type in your tumblr url, and click “invisible tracking”. To go to the next page just press the enter key. On the next page, select the installer for tumblr, and they’ll guide you the rest of the way.
Now that you have installed a tracker, go to your project stats, and click the tab on the side that says “Recent Visitor Activity” You’ll see this page here, with all the people’s interactions on your blog. It only records 500 hits at a time.
Okay so now you have a place where you can access visitor’s IP addresses.
The next step is to get a code that allows you to block and re-direct people whose IPs you’ve blocked. Here it is:
<script type=“text/javascript” src=“http://l2.io/ip.js?var=userip”></script> <script language=“Javascript”> function preloadFunc() { var ip = userip; var bannedips=[ “00.00.00.000”, “00.00.00.000”, ]
var handleips=bannedips.join(“|”) handleips=new RegExp(handleips, “i”)
Replace the 00.00.00.000 with the IP’s you want to block, make sure they’re in quotes and are followed by a comma. You can add as many of them as you want.
Next is to create a page they redirect to. You can NOT redirect someone to an outside page, like a different tumblr account or another website. Say you want to redirect someone to “yoururl.tumblr.com/banned” all you have to put in the quotes is “banned” because the “yoururl.tumblr.com” is already implied. You will need to make a page for the people to be redirected to.
This code also puts the user that you’ve banned into a load-loop, meaning the page, while still visible to the person, is refreshing at a rate of about 2-3 times a second. It depends on the browser they’re using, but a lot of times this rapid data use will slow down the browser, and crash it.
So what you do when you wanna block an IP, say someone sends you a nasty message. You can block the anon through the message, but that doesn’t stop them from looking at your blog. So here’s what you do:
1. Go to your statcounter page and click on the “Popular Pages” tab on the side (its near the top)
2. scroll until you see “yoururl.tumblr.com/ask”
3. Click on the magnifier icon and it will show you visitors that have recently viewed this page.
Here’s where you need to do a little guess work. If you have the timestamp extension installed through xkit, all you need to do is line up the times.
Disclaimer: Visits, and messages as well, sent to you over the mobile app do not show up here.
So when you have the IP, all you do is copy and paste it into your HTML, and you’re done.
Now, on to the harder part, finding your school’s IP. You really can’t do this without going to your school and recording your IP address while you’re there. And some schools can have more than one IP, depending on size.
Another way to find your school’s IP is, if it’s a big school or university, it is sometimes online. I know MIT’s IPs are posted online. There are no services, that I know of, that do reverse IP lookups.
Hey i found your blog! I love your blog! Now I follow your blog! Hiiiii!!
Hola ~~~~
Someone asked a while ago how they can take extra measures to make sure certain people can’t reach their blog, considering the blocking system is still pretty shit, so let me show you what I do.

I’m… Not surprised if she/whoever runs the blog has multiple other blogs. I’ve heard stories before where people think she has multiple blogs. I believe in the case of eeriie, a 3rd party blog asked if she liked Sixpenceee and when she said no, she began getting hate, and some speculated that the 3rd party blog was Six. Not sure though.
Every time I try to open your blog, i got redirected to /dashboard/blog/kaijuno. Every other blog works perfectly fine. Is it 'cause the 4chaners are overloading the site or did you set this redirection?
Tumblr recommended me a blog that has me blocked and allowed me to follow them? Kaijuno has had me blocked for years i have no idea why we’ve never interacted. I can not view posts on their blog. I was previously unable to reblog their posts. I can see their blog when im logged out in safari. Clicking the follow button was really slow and buggy, did tumblr just allow me to undo another users block??? I cant @ kaijuno
Hi! I’m not sure why I had you blocked, but when I was younger I was pretty quick on the trigger with blocking people. I had coded a IP blocker into the html of my blog that would tag suspicious activity and I would usually block from there. Let me look into it.
