i still can’t believe that the incredibles is likely set in the 1960s
the entire film is designed with classic 50s-60s art styles, a lot of the interior design of the parr household is in 60s style, fashion is generally reminiscent of the 60s, in the beginning of the film all the photographs and video are grainy and shot in 60s style, the technology in bob’s office is very dated, when edna is going on her “no capes” rant she cites superheroes who died from cape designs and says their deaths were in the 50s, all the cars in the film have 60s models, any advanced tech we really see is seemingly kept secret from the general public, here’s a newspaper from the film:

Holy fuck
Jack-jack is a baby boomer
Baby Boomer? Jack-Jack? I trusted him…
“i am a full-time student working hard to get my degree in design and pursue a career in animation, graphic design, or illustration.”

i finished him

update: my portfolio professor wanted him in a series

i think i’ve done some good work today
I hope you’re never hired anywhere
I hope you get the job of your fuckin dreams.
So this has become a thing now. I’m making the Homework Help series, various playlists to help you get homework done, because homework is a lot easier if you imagine that you’re not doing homework at all.
In this playlist, imagine that you’re a detective filling out paperwork to solve a case.
In this playlist, imagine that you’ve just found alien life, or that you’ve found radio waves coming from a nearby planet, and you’re filling out paperwork on it. Note: Sounds from NASA are actually waves that the planets give off, the frequency has been upped and the waves have been condensed for human hearing
Also: feel free to request other playlist themes here!
Hailing from Yokohama, Japan, Takanori Aiba creates “dimensional” works of art combining his knowledge and past experience in maze illustration and architectural work. Aiba incorporates the traditional technique and aesthetic approach that is similarly found in the art of Bonsai grooming.

Maybe you’ve seen my comics. Maybe they’ve helped you own someone or given you the old “lol"
I could use your help—most sites are shit and I’m trying to build a sustainable home for political cartoons >>> http://thenib.com/kickstarter
Scenes from today’s launch failure when an Antares rocket exploded as it blasted off from Wallops Island, Virginia. The unmanned spacecraft was carrying 5,000 pounds of gear for the crew of the International Space Station.
Just as an aside, the aerospace companies I’ve been working with (via the film 'I want to be an Astronaut') manufacture and design the first (Aerojet Rocketdyne) and second (ATK) stages for the Antares rocket. Bad day. Thankfully, only cargo, scientific experiments, food, and launch pad architecture were the only collateral damage in this anomaly.
It’s always heart-wrenching to see an anomaly such as this. While there were not crewmembers on board, nor any high-profile experiments, it’s never easy seeing a rocket fail. It’s even harder knowing that this happened to a private company, who will have a harder time recovering from this mishap than a government agency.
While it’s easy to speculate, we must remember that there can be numerous causes, some not so obvious, and that we must wait for the facts when they come in. Orbital is a company with a long history in the aerospace industry. There are bound to be mistakes. Escaping the pull of Earth’s gravity is far from easy; sometimes we can be used to everything working properly that we forget there can be errors. Orbital will find the problem, implement a solution, and carry on better than before.
why is concept art always 300% better than the final product especially in western animation
99% of the replies to this are twelve page essays about how time consuming it would be to animate concept art like . buddy. i know. im in film school for animation. u ppl needa know how 2 see a funie joke on the internet and move on without takin it so seriously
aight but have none of those ppl seen The Book of Life bc uh lemme tell you

the concept art and the finalized versions of sets, characters, and scenes in the film look THE SAME. The Book of Life had a lower budget than Frozen too so uh…….. 👀 y’all need to open ya eyes
tbh the book of life looked even better than its concept art
I like to imagine aliens that have no concept of creative expression. Aliens that design technology only for efficiency and ease of life. Them having books and movies only to convey information. Imagine how baffled they be by humans. They’d be like “what are art museums? You just go to a building and look at pictures?” “Yeah they’re pretty!” “What do they mean?” “Art means different things to different people. It depends on the person!” And they’re just so confused. Or “why are there… why does this cellular phone, as you call it, come in multiple colors?” “Because people like different colors” “but…. why? Does the rose gold phone have a different purpose?” “No they’re all the same, just different colors” “but??????” Or my personal favorite: humans trying to explain the concept of a person having a favorite color. “Why do humans have favorite colors? Do different wavelengths of light mean different things to different people?” “No they just look pretty. I like green. Green is a pretty color.” “But why??????” “Just because.” And they’re just so perplexed and frustrated
Years of alien research over creative expression only to come to the conclusion: “humans are wack. Why are they like this. An in depth analysis by aliens”
Aliens: “These washers are identical, however one is white and one is red. After studying human color theory, I have learned that red is representative of heat, this must mean the red washer washes clothes at a higher temperature!”
Humans: “Nah it’s just red”
Aliens:
