It’s so interesting, you could honestly write a book textbook-style about tumblr fandom over the past couple years, and it would still be shorter than a lot of fics that came out of said fandoms (which i’m currently talking about with @bokuroho actually!!!) And me and @anvard have stayed up many late nights discussing tumblr history. It’s so rich and interesting honestly

Someone make a timeline with example posts. It is our duty as the tumblr elders. We must protect our children from repeating the dark ways of the past.

It’s so wild bc I can literally separate my life by what tumblr fandoms I was active in. Like there are entire years that are just like, the superwholock years, the homestuck years, the bandom years, with a couple months of overlap in between. My current contributions to fandom and tumblr in general have been informed by my past and the mistakes I’ve made in older fandoms… It’s wild and I wanna do a serious academic paper on it bc there’s a lot there that I just wanna collect somehow

Over the past 7 years I can very clearly divide it into what fandoms I was in. Star Trek, classic rock, Superwholock for a few months, Rooster Teeth, WTNV, Pacific Rim, there was a year in there where I bounced around from RT to Steven Universe to other small scale fandoms. Now I just kind bounce around from place to place, RT to Star Wars to the occasional small scale TV show.
