Do You Like Welcome To Night Vale? Check Out These Podcasts!

I’ve been posting a bit about different podcasts I really like and I’ve gotten asks about what ones I recommend and honestly my favorite ones are Preforming Arts podcasts and I have a bunch here that I feel like you guys would really like, and most of them are in the same vein as WTNV!

The Bright Sessions: Dr. Bright provides therapy to the strange and unusual; their sessions have been recorded for research purposes. Her patients include a time traveler, an empath, and a mind reader!

The Black Tapes: The Black Tapes is a weekly podcast from Pacific Northwest Stories and Minnow Beats Whale, and is hosted by Alex Reagan. The Black Tapes is a serialized docudrama about one journalist’s search for truth, her enigmatic subject’s mysterious past, and the literal and figurative ghosts that haunt them both. How do you feel about paranormal activity or the Supernatural? Ghosts? Spirits? Demons? Do you believe?

Alice Isn’t Dead: A new serial fiction podcast from the team behind Welcome to Night Vale. A truck driver searches across America for the wife she had long assumed was dead. In the course of her search, she will encounter not-quite-human serial murderers, towns literally lost in time, and a conspiracy that goes way beyond one missing woman.

Within The Wires: A new serial fiction podcast from the team behind Welcome to Night Vale and Alice Isn’t Dead. Set within an alternate reality, “Within the Wires” tells stories in the guise of instructional audio programs. Season One, “Relaxation Cassettes,“ is a 10 part scripted fiction podcast that takes the form of an audio course on full body relaxation issued by The Institute to you, (the listener) a nameless medical inmate. Who is this narrator? Is she relaying something more than just relaxation techniques, and is she to be trusted? And are there subliminal messages hidden within the music? As listeners move through the relaxation curriculum a deeper and more personal story unravels.

King Falls AM: King Falls AM centers on a lonely little mountain town’s late-night AM talk radio show and it’s paranormal, peculiar happenings and inhabitants.

The Message: The Message is a new podcast following the weekly reports and interviews from Nicky Tomalin, who is covering the decoding of a message from outer space received 70 years ago. Over the course of 8 episodes we get an inside ear on how a top team of cryptologists attempt to decipher, decode, and understand the alien message.

TANIS: Tanis is a bi-weekly podcast from the creators of Pacific Northwest Stories, and is hosted by Nic Silver. Tanis is a serialized docudrama about a fascinating and surprising mystery: the myth of Tanis.Tanis is an exploration of the nature of truth, conspiracy, and information. Tanis is what happens when the lines of science and fiction start to blur…

Limetown: Ten years ago, over three hundred men, women and children disappeared from a small town in Tennessee, never to be heard from again. In this seven-part podcast, American Public Radio host Lia Haddock asks the question once more, "What happened to the people of Limetown?”

Archive 81: A few weeks ago, my friend Daniel Powell disappeared. Before he vanished, he sent me hours and hours of audio he’d collected while working as an archivist at HHCNYS. The tapes are… strange. I’m not entirely sure if they’re real or not, but I’m posting them in the hope that someone can tell me what’s happened to Dan.
