Protip: Pokemon Go uses portal locations made by Ingress and its players to make Gym and Pokestop locations. So make an Ingress account and go to https://www.ingress.com/intel
All those dots are Ingress portals and will also be Pokestops or Gyms.
Hopefully Go will give us a map like this at some point, but for now we can use this. Look for clusters so that you can get the most items without have to travel to far.
So I was right when I said it looked like there was absolutely nothing on one half of my town! Because according to that map there isn’t anything north of my location within walking distance.
Okay, seriously, who designed these maps because this has got to be the most poorly planned out thing ever in my town.
Ingress uses place of ‘cultural importance’
So if you live in a small town, you wont have much, especially if there werent many ingress players there when niantic still took portal submissions. Since then at least players could try and get portals added.
