God I’m so gay for Jupiter

I’ve been asked in the past to teach people about astronomy over the internet, and I do not have the time to do that. I do, however, have the time to upload all of my astronomy notes, various charts and graphs, and one particularly heart wrenching lecture about global warming via my very passionate astrophysics professor, and possibly in the future even lecture slides. Like day one of my astronomy 101 in freshman year my prof went on a tirade about how astronomy should have been given the name “astrology” because astrology in latin is essentially “study of the stars” while astronomy is something along the lines of “physical universe beyond our atmosphere” and we had to pick that because the idk whoever did astrology first were hogging the title

like astrologists you do you but from a strictly academic standpoint i will destroy you in battle

Jupiter doesn’t have the correct chemical composition for it to be a star. Plus it formed in a totally different way. Stars are formed from collapsing stellar clouds, they accrete mass until it becomes dense enough to fuse. Jupiter was formed the same way other planets are, the leftover material orbiting the star accretes into planetesimals and then slowly get larger and larger until they’re big enough to be classified as a planet. Brown dwarfs are formed the same way stars are, but the collapsing cloud isn’t big enough to compress into an area hot enough to fuse.

I'm thinking of going into astrophysics in college, but art and creative writing are also very, very dear to me. Will I have to give those up bc of time management in college? That's one of my biggest fears

In many places you can get a BA in astronomy which, I’m assuming, is more artistically involved than a BS in astronomy
