Maybe it’s just me, but Trump saying he’s axing all stimulus negotiations until after the election came just DAYS after I got a letter from the IRS saying non filers (aka people that don’t make enough money to have to file taxes) could now apply for their stimulus checks
I have long said that in order for any comedy to truly succeed as a story, there has to be meat beneath the jokes. There has to be that moment when it is not funny any more.

#honestly even though this is one of the best scripts there ever has been #that is the greatest line #it’s /groundbreaking/ in terms of how it frames vengeance quests; temptation beats; inigo as a comedic figure throughout the movie #you know because this is a happy book (film) that inigo will get his revenge #but will he get JUSTICE #will he get ABSOLUTION #will he get CATHARSIS #those are the things we don’t know #and that line sells it more than any of the previous scene (x)

I don’t respect the system, but I DO respect people who were forced into that system against their will and witnessed atrocities and suffer from ptsd.
This is exactly how yall should be doing it coming from a military kid that hates the military.
Please appreciate and hold respect for the fact that people WANT to potentially die for this country- any country that allows volunteers, really! However, it’s totally okay not to like the military system itself because THAT’S what’s corrupt, not the people just following orders, considering a lot of people in the military are also doing it because they’re poor and needed a job that can give you a pretty decent wage.
It’s a corrupt job but it provides real benefits and safety nets for many people. It’s honorable that people care enough to die for it too.
I respect the soldiers, I do not respect the system.
So we all know that (unfortunately) Simon Pegg and Doug Jung are not writing Star Trek 4 and Justin Lin isn’t directing it. It is back to JJ and his crew.
But is it just me that is terrified of what JJ is going to do to Jaylah? We all know about his love for love interest plots and unnecessary nude scenes. I swear to god if he shows Jaylah in her underwear once or reduces her to someone’s girlfriend (Kirks or Scotty’s idc who) I promise you i w i l l r i o t
He might not do this and and he might stick with the beyond theme of hopefulness and keep everything that Pegg and Jung brought to the rebooted trek and make it a great Star Trek movie and make it similar to beyond.
But if he does take the into darkness route (and we all know the rule about the trek films) and does something problematic eg kill of Ben Sulu and/or Demora Sulu for ‘shock factor’ or any of the above I will not rest until I have met him and given him a stern lecture about the morals of trek
