So I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve always been interested in playing the stock market. The thing is, I’m poor. So I never thought I would get the opportunity to try and invest and make a little money. But then I found an app called Stash. You can invest as little as 5 dollars, and the app is designed for beginners!! It bunches the stocks together into groups and explains what they are to you. It shows you the stock’s profile, how well it’s doing, ect. You can also set what stock groups you see based on your financial ability, so like if you’ve got some money to spare you can invest aggressively or you can invest in less volatile stocks and play it safe.
Another thing I like about it is that it has a library of informational articles about investing built into the app! And you can set up auto deposits every week / biweekly and it’s really cool? Like I’ve been using it for a couple weeks and have already made a few bucks, which is super cool. Plus, it’s a great gateway to getting you involved with the stock market.
Another awesome thing: I was offered a deal here, everyone who signs up (18 or older and must have a bank account!) will get 5 bucks to make their first investment, and I’ll get 5 dollars to invest too!

Starbot is a light, melancholic rpgmaker game tribute to The Little Prince. You play as a work-in-progress robot who befriends a star, explores satellites, and fetches parts for their (v gay) engineer and mechanic. Their journey takes them through strange dream worlds and crosses paths with a cast of wistful NPCs and eccentric, slightly intimidating sloths.
There is only Faygo. No milk, no beer, no liquor has graced us in decades. There is only the artificial taste of Faygo. No one even likes it. You take a drink.
A small child tries to fold a paper airplane. He looks down and is upset to see a Ford truck, folded perfectly. It is an F-150. He tries to make an airplane again. This time he folds a Model T. He begins to cry.
“The water is clean!” Cries Flint mayor Dayne Walling. Brown water with sediment still flows from our taps. “The Flint River isn’t polluted anymore!” He insists nervously. Beads of sweat form on his brow. He clutches a bottle of Evian water in his sweaty hand.
The potholes move and grow at night, they consume cars and children alike. My father had to drive to Detroit last week. ‘Beware of the potholes,’ I warned him. I haven’t seen him since.
The sirens are tested every first Saturday of the month. You hear the sirens, but realize its only Friday. Its not the sirens, but children screaming instead.
The Detroit Red Wings never stop playing. There is a game every night. This has been going on for years and the players miss their families. Please let the Red Wings rest.
A body is pulled from the Flint River one hazy morning. The distant sound of Dayne Walling can be heard over the wind, “The water is clean!” He cries. The body resembles you.
Someone asked a while ago how they can take extra measures to make sure certain people can’t reach their blog, considering the blocking system is still pretty shit, so let me show you what I do.
First you need to install http://statcounter.com/ on your blog. You make an account, and they give you a chunk of code to put at the top of your blog. (The best part is that you can have multiple “projects” or blogs under on account, perfect for sideblogs).
To create the code, go to http://statcounter.com/add-project/, type in your tumblr url, and click “invisible tracking”. To go to the next page just press the enter key. On the next page, select the installer for tumblr, and they’ll guide you the rest of the way.
Now that you have installed a tracker, go to your project stats, and click the tab on the side that says “Recent Visitor Activity” You’ll see this page here, with all the people’s interactions on your blog. It only records 500 hits at a time.
Okay so now you have a place where you can access visitor’s IP addresses.
The next step is to get a code that allows you to block and re-direct people whose IPs you’ve blocked. Here it is:
<script type=“text/javascript” src=“http://l2.io/ip.js?var=userip”></script> <script language=“Javascript”> function preloadFunc() { var ip = userip; var bannedips=[ “00.00.00.000”, “00.00.00.000”, ]
var handleips=bannedips.join(“|”) handleips=new RegExp(handleips, “i”)
Replace the 00.00.00.000 with the IP’s you want to block, make sure they’re in quotes and are followed by a comma. You can add as many of them as you want.
Next is to create a page they redirect to. You can NOT redirect someone to an outside page, like a different tumblr account or another website. Say you want to redirect someone to “yoururl.tumblr.com/banned” all you have to put in the quotes is “banned” because the “yoururl.tumblr.com” is already implied. You will need to make a page for the people to be redirected to.
This code also puts the user that you’ve banned into a load-loop, meaning the page, while still visible to the person, is refreshing at a rate of about 2-3 times a second. It depends on the browser they’re using, but a lot of times this rapid data use will slow down the browser, sometimes even crashing it.
So what you do when you wanna block an IP, say someone sends you a nasty message. You can block the anon through the message, but that doesn’t stop them from looking at your blog. So here’s what you do:
1. Go to your statcounter page and click on the “Popular Pages” tab on the side (its near the top)
2. scroll until you see “yoururl.tumblr.com/ask”
3. Click on the magnifier icon and it will show you visitors that have recently viewed this page.
Here’s where you need to do a little guess work. If you have the timestamp extension installed through xkit, all you need to do is line up the times.
Disclaimer: Visits, and messages as well, sent to you over the mobile app do not show up here.
So when you have the IP, all you do is copy and paste it into your HTML, and you’re done. The person will be redirected to your banned page.
It’s November 15th, school is closed as are all the stores. You are warned to stay inside and keep the doors locked, you’re huddled close with your family far from the windows, the hunting season has begun.
At night you drive down the road and your headlights catch the eyes of something in the woods. ‘a deer, only a deer’ you tell yourself, you ignore the part of your brain that reminds you deer only have two eyes.
It’s getting warmer and fireflies begin to rise from the grass. They bring with them messages from ancient beings long forgotten, the language lost in time. You hope none of these insects are carrying important warnings.
The corn fields go on for miles, you can’t remember when you started driving, you don’t remember where you are going or where you came from. All you remember is corn stalks.
Apples are in season, cherries are in season, they should not be in season at the same time but no one questions it, no one questions why the juices of both are so red and thick, no one questions why the insides of the fruit are raw meat.
It snows for days, so says the news. You know it has been 6 months. It is impossible to open the door and rations are running low. ‘tomorrow expect sun’ the news says. You pray they are right, you’re not sure you can fight off your parents much longer, they are so hungry.
Along the highways the buildings change, the life force of 8 mile has been sucked dry by the things that live under the city, the people on 12 mile pretend they do not notice the dying plants and beginnings of crumbling on their homes.
The potholes appear as they do every year, you try not to think about them. You swerve as you were taught. You try not to think how they move and grow to try and catch you as you pass. You try not to think about what’s inside them.
Summers bring tourists to the lake shore, they enjoy the sun and waves but say nothing of the sand that sings and the voices calling them into the waters of Lake Michigan. Summer brings tourists who are not heard from again.
A man is arrested and put into prison for the murder of several people in the inner city of detroit. He knows he is innocent but does not speak up, every knows he is innocent but does not speak up. If someone were to speak up and acknowledge them, the ancient beasts would become even more powerful.
The people in the U.P. chuckle and tell tourists that trolls is just a nickname for the people who live in the lower peninsula. There is a hesitance, a fear in their eyes though. They cannot tell the truth, the peace treaty would be broken and they know they would not survive another war with the creatures under the bridge

Now, on to the harder part, finding your school’s IP. You really can’t do this without going to your school and recording your IP address while you’re there. And some schools can have more than one IP, depending on size.
Another way to find your school’s IP is, if it’s a big school or university, it is sometimes online. I know MIT’s IPs are posted online. There are no services, that I know of, that do reverse IP lookups.
