Is “gay” the only thing people can think of when seeing a rainbow? What about the physics of light? What about colors? What about rain? The weather? The sky? Happiness? Magic? Idfk try to be a little original, it’s not that hard
it’s official, gays now own the physics of light, colours, rain, the weather, and sky, as well as happiness and magic. all these things are now gay, i’m so happy they came out.
Recently honored in the ABC series “When We Rise”, the openly gay artist is remembered for designing the unifying symbol of the LGBT community and movement.
The rainbow flag was first designed and handmade in 1978. A rainbow was used to reflect the fact that LGBT people are of natural beauty. The first flag was flown on June 25, 1978 at San Francisco Pride, with 8 colors. Each had its own meaning: hot pink for sexuality, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for magic/art, blue for harmony, and violet for the spirit. Following the assassination of influential leader Harvey Milk, the flag was in high demand and was revised to retain efficiency. Nowadays, the flag is shown as having 6 evens colors, having dropped hot pink and turquoise.

Now we must remember Mr. Baker as designing the seminal symbol for our people. Gone are the days of the pink triangle–we define ourselves. Thank you for giving us this beautiful symbol. The Pride Flag is something that has given us the image for our pride and community. There is nothing I would rather assign myself to more than the rainbow. We will always remember you.
i think we should allow rainbow capitalism ONLY for companies that vocally support lgbtq ppl year round so tushy’s pride promotions are perfectly fine with me

I was at Portland Pride, and y’all don’t even understand this man’s power. This photo is from the back, so you don’t see the perfection of the outfit, the chiseled jaw, the truth of his incredible shoulders-to-waist ratio, the reflective aviators.
It’s a still image, so you don’t see the confidence with which he walks. He KNOWS he’s the shit. We were walking in opposite directions on the sidewalk as he was getting into position for the parade, and I short circuited. This man is FINE, and he knows it.
You DEFINITELY don’t know that one of the drag queens who was calling the parade, when he walked by, stopped mid-sentence and said, and this is a direct quote,
“Sir, that absolutely is America’s ass. I probably shouldn’t say that, but it’s true.” Every single person in the crowd who was even a little bit attracted to men whooped and clapped at that truth.
Turns out they use neutral pronouns—see: starcaptainyork on Instagram. Here are some of their pics from facebook (easiest to screencap), featuring the aviators, front-view, and confirming Cap-appropriate jaw line:
Happy Pride Month! Don't forget that the founder of Pride is a bisexual woman, Brenda Howard aka Mother of Pride, who organized the first pride parade. Don't forget that two of the most key figures in LGBT liberation were Marsha P Johnson, a black trans woman, and Sylvia Rivera, a puerto rican trans bi woman. Don't forget that the person to start the fight against the police at stonewall was Stormé DeLarverie, a butch and gnc biracial lesbian.
I love the extra details in Brooklyn Nine Nine so much, like look at the rainbow folders in the background here!
And then they move to Gina’s work station and stay there throughout the rest of the show, in that exact order. Like imagine Gina needing the contents of those folders but seeing they’re arranged in rainbow order and making sure they stay that way
Then Captain Holt gets this lil rainbow flag instead and it moves with him when he gets transferred to the public relations department and then moves with him again when he moves back into the 99
What Captain Holt said in the first episode of the show is so true, like he really doesn’t try to hide the fact that he’s gay, he has rainbow things everywhere like I can’t imagine what purpose that tiny disco ball could have other than to show that he’s gay and not ashamed of that at all (also look at the tiny NYC model it’s so cute)
Gina has a jar on her desk that says ‘Ashes of Problem Employees’ and I can 100% imagine her threatening people she doesn’t like with that jar and them blowing it off but also being just a tiny bit worried
Then look at Jake’s car. He has a rubber duck stuck to his dashboard and a rubber chicken and shaving cream? Like he’s always running late so imagine him just perfecting the art of somehow shaving in the car to save time and washing his face the second he walks into the building so he just always has shaving cream in the car with him and literally everyone who sees him is just sort of disgusted but also a lil bit impressed
And look at his desk!!! He has a #1 Detective sticker on his lamp and this tiny police car and it’s just so so cute to me, like what if he got that police car when he was a kid and first decided he wanted to be a detective and that lil car came with him to uni and to the academy and moving from desk to desk with him until he finally gets to be a detective
Idk I just really love this show and their attention to detail
