Well, of course people feel a bit attacked with that kind of thing tho. It's not your fault or even that it was actually rude, it's just so common to act like not science majors are somehow less intelligent and less important than STEM that people get defensive very quickly. Sorry you got tangled up in that Mess of self-esteem issues. As a linguistics major, I know that a lot of people treated me like an idiot for choosing a field I love instead of something like engineering.
yeah i think most of the time they just see buzzwords and get hyperdefensive without checking what the post actually says. plus ppl substitute their own tone onto posts & get upset for no reason
