I was at SDCC 2012 and for some panel (I can’t remember which) and Neil deGrasse Tyson was there and someone complained to him about Pluto since he was on the board that denounced it as a planet. His response was “You know what? You put the time in, you put in the work for twelve years, get a PhD in astrophysics, spend a lifetime researching in the field, and THEN WE CAN TALK ABOUT WHETHER OR BOT PLUTO IS A PLANET!” After that I was convinced that maybe it shouldn’t be a planet lol
