i'm 15 so all the advice i've got from doctors is Try Counselling (and told to apply to CAMHS) because they don't give antidepressants to children, but counselling really isn't a thing that helps me at all. it doesn't stop me feeling depressed and being suicidal to the point where i have to just not do anything and procrastinate so i don't try and do anything bad

If you are Assertive enough there are some doctors who are willing to prescribe antidepressants to you but it depends on the doctor

If you’re going through puberty and experiencing massive changes in estrogen and progesterone and you have these problems cyclically, it might be PMDD which can be treated with birth control and not with counseling. That’s one of many disorders where depression is a symptom and not the disease. It’s terrible that your doctor isn’t doing their due diligence.

CBT and DBT are great types of therapy that actually teach you emotional skills. they just require a little bit more research to find someone who does different types of therapy in your area.
