The evaluation of Spongebob Squarepants. From 1999-2014.
I don’t know them last two them ain’t my sponge bobs
That last one..ew
his arms just get higher and higher…can someone analyze for me the subtle changes between them all. I know something is off but I can’t identify it
He gets better drawn throughout the years, as with most cartoons. It takes away character. It doesn’t have that “hand drawn” feel anymore.

Spongebob Squarepants season 1 episode 17b: Rock Bottom
“This isn’t your average everyday darkness. This is… advanced darkness.”
this episode literally scared the shit out of me as a child and to this day when people put raspberries in between their words it creates a sense of fear in me TO THIS DAY
Peak surreal horror genius. Something about the perpetually-missed bus adds so much dread…
I know why! I remember a section in my hs sociology class that talked about this.
Westerners have a tendency to adhere to a very strict schedule. We all do it. We get pissy when the bus or the subway is late. We get docked for punching in/out late. Westerners live their lives by timetables. Free time is frowned upon (something spawned from the colonial era and is why we have so many after school programs in America - idle hands, the devil, old white Christian men that had sticks up their asses blah blah). Children often feel guilty about missing school, even if they’re sick. Dreams about being late to something are more prevalent among westerners. And so on.
This episode played on the fear of being late. Something as simple as missing the bus fills so many people with a dark dread in the pit of their stomach. The anxiety of being somewhere unfamiliar coupled with being late made for, quite frankly, one of the most upsetting and terrifying cartoon episodes of my childhood.
As you know, art and artists make Tumblr what it is. We want everyone on Tumblr to be able to fully express themselves while also having control over what they encounter on their dashboards. That’s why we’re introducing Community Labels, an extension to your “Content you see” settings. Our ultimate goal is to create a more open Tumblr, and this is our first step in that direction.
As a poster and reblogger, Community Labels are your way to help your followers avoid anything they’d rather not come across on their dashboards.
As a follower, setting your content preferences is a way to adjust your feed to your own comfort levels.
How does it work?
When creating new posts (or editing old posts), you’ll see controls allowing you to label your post as unsuitable for those filtering certain content types it contains.
When content is labeled, it will either be hidden, blurred, or displayed normally, based on each user’s preferences.
In your “Content you see” settings, you can now choose to show, blur, or hide content that depicts the following topics:
Some examples of content that would require a community label:
This doesn’t change our content policies: spam, hate content, and porn bots are still not welcome in the community. It’s also still important that we abide by app store rules, which means we need to make sure that mature content is only accessible to people who are old enough and have opted in to view that type of content. More information about Community Labels is available in the Help Center.
This is an opportunity to work towards a richer, more nuanced Tumblr experience while making sure everyone who enjoys using Tumblr can do so safely. That future we mentioned above? We’re already moving towards it.
Ok, didn’t everyone want “females presenting nipples” back on Tumblr? Here you are. This is it.
@jv So to be clear, is erotic fanart now allowed back on Tumblr so long as you classify the post appropriately?
Yup. That’s the idea.
I think there may be some limitations (not being able to blaze it and stuff like that and don’t ask me for clarification because I’m out of the water on this 😁), but yeah, it’s allowed as soon as it’s labelled!

NO FUCKING WAY
⛩️Welcome to the Doodle Champion Island Games! ⛩️
I’ve put in literally every ounce of my heart and soul over the past two years as Creative Lead for today’s Google Doodle. Partnering with Japanese animation studio Studio4°C (!!!) and working with an *incredibly* dedicated, creative, open, inspiring team at Google to make a love letter to Japanese 16-bit video games that inspired me and so many.
The list is too long but thank you to all the folks who helped to make this INSANE doodle a reality.
Calling this a dream project is an understatement, I felt like I trained my whole life for this.
7 sport mini-games, 22 side quests, an entire world to explore. Please enjoy :)
At last…LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

why is concept art always 300% better than the final product especially in western animation
99% of the replies to this are twelve page essays about how time consuming it would be to animate concept art like . buddy. i know. im in film school for animation. u ppl needa know how 2 see a funie joke on the internet and move on without takin it so seriously
aight but have none of those ppl seen The Book of Life bc uh lemme tell you

the concept art and the finalized versions of sets, characters, and scenes in the film look THE SAME. The Book of Life had a lower budget than Frozen too so uh…….. 👀 y’all need to open ya eyes
tbh the book of life looked even better than its concept art
