I’m a cat enthusiast and i can tell you, the kitty is actually trying to help! (or just trying to figure out what humane is doing by also touching it)

Cats like to mimic what other members if their cat groups are doing. In human enviroments, this translates to cats following humans (who they see as part of their group) and trying to mimic activities they are doing.

Human sits on couch? Cat sit with them! Human reading or on their computer? Cat go after human and sprawl over them or the keyboard because cat do the same! Human eating? Cat also want eat! Human touch spining clay and make weird shapes? Cat also do that! Cat help!

With only approximately 100 people living on the island and thousands of stray cats, it’s a cat-lovers dream come true. It is believed that the population of cats thrives due to a belief that feeding cats will bring good fortune. Dogs are even prohibited from the island! In the middle of the island lies a small cat shrine. The story behind this shrine lies with the fishermen of the island. They said that the cats would come and beg for fish, and they would often give into the cats and feed them. On one occasion, the fishermen were collecting rocks for their fixed nets and one fell, killing one of the cats. Feeling guilty and upset about the loss of the cat, they buried it and built a shrine.

One of my cats just completely hates me and sometimes will just come up and hiss and yowl at me and whenever she does my oldest cat, sweet little 12 year old Tigger, in all of her 3 pounds runt-of-the-litter glory, will chase the other cat (who is about twice her size and 4 times her weight) down fearlessly even though the other cat is so much bigger and younger than her. Cats are just so good and pure and loyal sometimes. I love Tigger.
