I was 4 years old during the twin towers attack and it’s so WEIRD to me that so many movies used them as part of the iconic ‘New York skyline’. Some of my first ever memories were of the towers being destroyed. Of people choosing to jump to their deaths rather than being burned alive. And it just seems so bizarre to me how many movies made in the 90s feature the towers in the background but it’s like “oh yeah, these were iconic buildings” and it’s so hard to imagine them as such; as having the iconic status of something similar to the Chrysler building, when people my age have only ever known them as a monument to pain and suffering
