I’m not like an artistic person at all. I mean I’ve had a probably average amount of art and art history classes throughout my education but like. I’m somehow in charge of all artistic envdeavors in the house. From painting and tiling and all that to picking wedding colors to dying peoples hair. I guess I just have a knack for like, color theory? Because I’m somehow the deciding factor in everything from picking what color to paint the kitchen, what color my sisters bridesmaid dresses should be, to what color my mom should dye her hair.

my dad had complemented me ONCE in my ENTIRE LIFE and it was about how I have an eye for style and color and in the order of kitchen bridesmaid dresses and hair: light blue pastel pink and purple

You realize dark skin doesn’t go with everything, right? That doesn’t make it bad, it just means dark brown and pastel pink look like shit together.

They really don’t - pastels look quite stunning on dark skin! And dark skin can and does go with everything!

Brown is an earth tone and as color theory suggests: earth tones are considered neutral colors, meaning they can be paired with just about any other color

Actually since most people’s skin color falls in the earthtone category, it’s a fairly safe assumption that every skin color goes good with just about every other color.

For my 9th birthday my dad got me a light blue gameboy and my mom also got me a light blue gameboy and I was too afraid to tell anyone because I was afraid they’d be mad at me for letting them spend 100 WHOLE DOLLARS on something that I already had so I just kept it a secret and to this day I still have two light blue gameboys

Just got to do some woodworking for the first time in a long while, and I am once again reminded of why I enjoy my favorite type of word to work with: Purpleheart.

Why’s it called purpleheart?

Muthafuckin’ purple wood. How cool is that? It’s brown when you cut it, but due to oxidization, eventually turns to a beautiful purple color. (if you don’t seal it at this stage, it’ll eventually turn red, I believe, which is still pretty, but you buy purpleheart for purple, damnit!)

And everything you make with it turns out amazing.

Purple floors?

Nice.

Purple stairs?

Fancy.

Purple table?

Sweet.

Purple guitar?

Awesome.

Purple whatever the hell is going on here?

Epic.

It’s just such a cool wood to work with, and it’s sturdy enough to be used for just about anything. If I ever get a house, half of it might just end up being made out of purpleheart.

Anyway, that’s enough nerdery for one post. I will now return to reblogging stupid pictures and recipes.

I dyed my hair violet and so my fingernails have a purple tinge to them bc it was splat dye so I went “a-fucking-mess couture” and highlighted my purple tinged nails with some holo blue nail polish I got today and the nail polish color is “Lets Get Digital” And I just,,,,, feel like 1999

Depends on a bunch of stuff. What color is your hair now, like is it light enough to skip the bleach? If so, I’d go to Sally’s and get purple dye. Its semipermanent but high quality, and Sally’s has a huge variety of dyes. If you’ve got to bleach it first, I’d go with splat dye. Its harder on your hair but it’s vibrant and pretty cheap.
