Ah, yes, 2004… an excellent vintage. Truly a most delectable meme.
Pre-YouTube, Pre-Monetisation…what a time to be alive,
a superb old fashioned meme
A few years ago I made a post about how we were entering a period of micromemes. Memes that only lasted a few days/weeks. Meme production over the last few years has only increased to the point of there being a new meme a few times a week. Meme production will increase, quicker and quicker into infinity. I warned against the dangers of a meme singularity. I fear that soon, the meme singularity (memeularity) will be upon us. Every meme will exist within each other into infinity. It’s already happening. Meme fusion is just a cheap tactic to make micromemes seem stronger. We will soon be splicing memes into an unrecognizable mutant disaster. The memepocalypse is upon us. I tried to warn you.
As someone who has a very strong hyperfixation on biology and Pokémon, i need to rant about heights and how people spread things without researching or reflecting about them.
My subject this time is FURRET.
So, everyone knows Furret, the gen 2 normal ferret haha Furret walk haha meme. Furret is, in its pokedex, stated to be 6'/1,80m tall. The problem is: people are not properly representing this height.
You see, in real life, we measure an animal from head to tail. A good example of this would be the snow leopard.
A snow leopard is said to be 7'/2,1m long, head to tail. Its body measures 4'/1,1m long and its tail is 3'/1m long.
In Furret, we must apply the same logic, because if we don't, it's going to look like THIS
Ridiculous, right? Many people like to represent Furret like this for the shock value.
But when we apply the head-tail logic to its length...
Voilá! A perfectly believable little boy!
Please tell me what y'all think!
I think you’ve committed a war crime against the purple translucent humanoid.
Adam & Eve
That very faint “Why’re you still eating the apple?” 💀

Still funny lol
😂😂😂😭😭😭
Cis people being upset about trans people saying “down with cis” are just so…
Like oh, you’re upset about a meme? That’s cool. Maybe tell your fellow cishets to stop killing trans people while you’re over there complaining to them about it
then why is it ok for trans people to make jokes or memes about cis people but its not ok for cis people to make jokes/memes about trans people
Because you’re not oppressed. You don’t have to worry about getting killed for being trans. You wont be denied a job or get beat up in the fucking bathroom. Your parents wont kick you out of the house for being trans. Your parents wont make you go to conversion therapy or abuse you for being trans.
And they get this one thing, right? They get this safe space on the internet where they can vent and be themselves and make jokes. ONE FUCKING THING.
But nooooooooo they ain’t allowed to have fuckin jokes because it hurts yalls feelings
Grow up.
I’m ashamed of what I’ve created.
WHY IS IT ALWAYS PEARL
It’s always Pearl because this meme is structured around a very common comedy trope (which TV Tropes calls ‘The Triple’) which is to list two normal things and then follow it up with a third random or humorous thing. You need to save the joke for last or else it doesn’t work as well and if you have too many or too few examples beforehand it just kind of kills the impact, so the magic number for the joke to work is 3 and since Pearl is listed third she’s always the one replaced with the joke
Meme Science.
Just about every joke in Avatar: The Last Airbender is peak comedy but conceptually my favorite moment is that scene in The Waterbending Scroll where Zuko’s crew was fighting some pirates and Aang was lost in the middle of a smoke cloud.
Now, Aang being an Airbender, the logical thing to do would be to blow the smoke away, which he does.

This would be funny enough in and of itself, but what really gets me is that Aang just nopes his way out of the situation by… Calling the smoke back?

Like on top of this being the literal only instance of an aerokinetic character blowing smoke away in reverse (not the same thing as kicking up a cloud of dust) just… everyone who was fighting just goes back to fighting each other like that didn’t just happen? Like they didn’t just see the Avatar- who they’re fighting over- is no longer tied up?
This five seconds of animation is just the most beautifully hilarious mess.
