Ok so I read this story once in elementary school and it kept switching between the point of view of like an 1800s western settler kid and a Native American kid from many years before and there was a part about where the Native American kid got caught I this canyon type deal and I can’t figure out what book it was for the life of me help
there was also another book i remember vaguely from elementary school about this guy wandering through the woods and he happens upon an abandoned mansion and he explores it and like night one he finds a bunch of beeswax candles and stays the night in the kitchen idk much else we were only allowed to check out books for 3 days
ok so the first one is Canyons by gary paulsen (author of Hatchet) but the second one I still haven’t been able to find. I’ve been through various forums about finding random abt identifying books but they haven’t gotten much attention so I’m once and for all asking here
