You’ve probably already answered this, but what happened to your leg?

MS, and i broke my foot slipping on ice freshman year of college and couldn’t afford the ER so i had to set the bone myself
wait how did you set the bone yourself
I grew up around nurses and had enough medical knowledge to set it myself. I knew what bone was out of place and I knew where it needed to be so I drank some vodka to numb my senses and got to work
jesus fuck you’ve got balls of steel
Yes but at the same time I had my grandma (also a nurse) come and make me soup (she lived abt a 30 minute drive away) bc I was in so much pain and honestly just needed soup to feel better. She also checked to make sure the bone was good and mixed ibuprofen and acetaminophen, which makes a really powerful painkiller that rivals opioids, to give to me for a few days. I needed crutches for about a week and unfortunately the pain comes back in cold weather, probably in part due to having MS.
your grandma sounds fucking awesome. nothing hits quite like a grandma’s cooking.
grandma soup is a wizard potion if you ask me
