Yesterday at work I was working register because two people called in and it was just me. This guy with a bunch of bags walks by and I can’t stop and check for a receipt because I’ve got a customer at the register. The guy stops outside the gate to light up a cigarette and then I notice the actual store manager sprinting from the entrance of the department towards this guy at the gate. By this time it’s just me and this vendor restocking our coolers. The manager is talking with the guy outside and I’m not really paying attention to what’s going on, so I kinda wander around sweeping and all of the sudden the vendor is like “uh,, uh, ma'am?” and I turn and look and the manager and the customer are fucking wrestling in the street. Apparently the customer paid for a few bags of stuff, and then went through the store and put some unpaid stuff in his bag and tried to steal it. I call over the intercom for security and shortly after the rest of my department comes running out to see what’s going on and by this time, the customer has gotten free of our manager and they’ve both ran the entire length of the parking lot and into the Salvation Army parking lot and one of our mechanics that was coming in saw this and gave chase too and long story short, due to a scheduling error, we had no AP in at all, so our manager had to play security. OH and then like, right after this happened, one of my associates came off the sales floor holding a watering can, a type we don’t even sell, and was like “I think uh, I think that, well.. Just look.” and I walk over to look and someone. Someone pissed in the watering can and left it on our shelf. It’s not even our watering can. Someone brought in a watering can with the specific goal of pissing in it and leaving it here. No one wanted to clean it. No one wanted to touch the Pee Can. It sat in the corner until one of the other guys came in and I made him take care of it and basically I’m taking today off. I don’t want to deal with not having security or Pee Cans.
