If you aren’t exclusively attracted to the same sex don’t fucking call yourself gay.
Then stop using the terms gay marriage, gay rights, gay bars, gay pride, and gay community when you mean LGBT+ or same-sex. Stop saying “lesbian and gay organization” to refer to LGBT+ organizations – looking at you, pflag! If you don’t want gay to be an umbrella term, stop using it as one.
You can’t force the label gay on bi and pan people against our will and then complain when we use it. It doesn’t work like that.
I'mma gonna reblog this again because it’s making the openly transphobic OP incoherently angry and I am all about that shit.
boom I’m with the second comment,
“Reagan Is Killing Me,” Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day, San Francisco, California, June 28, 1987. Photo by Saul Bromberger & Sandra Hoover. The first cases of AIDS in the United States were reported in 1981; President Ronald Reagan gave his first address on the subject on May 31, 1987, weeks before Pride celebrations took place across the country. By the end of 1987, over 40,000 people in the United States were dead from HIV/AIDS-related illness. #knowyourhistory (at Market Street San Fancisco)

Everyone: we want more LGBT+ characters in our stories !
Rick Riordan: okay here have a gay Italian sad boy
Everyone: I mean, it’s all right but-…
Rick Riordan: I understand. Want a bisexual main character, who happens to be a god?
Everyone: oh that’s actually nice…but! How about girls-
Rick Riordan: you’re totally right. Here have a pair of lesbian hunters
Everyone: …um this is actually pretty nice…how about-
Rick Riordan: a pansexual main character?
Everyone: yea-
Rick Riordan: with a gender fluid love interest? Say no more! Anything else?
Everyone:

I don’t know… why not an aro/ace character maybe ?
The Hunters of Artemis
This is why Rick Riordan is so important
He is like little baby

article said 90 now.
Beyond ridiculous.
The article is now up to 103 dead lesbian or bisexual women, and I’m just gonna list some of the fun ones here for you so you can see how ridiculous this is:
You’ll notice, of course, that one, jesus christ we’re all gonna get shot, and two, everyone dies violently. There’s never any peaceful deaths or “died of old age in her cottage in Spain”. It’s always violent and bloody and dramatic, and you can chalk that up to the “Bury Your Gays” trope and the need of the media, even if just subconsciously, to punish queer characters for their queerness.
You missed the best one
Julie, Executive Suite (1976)
Cause of death: Hit by a car. Her love interest had just walked into traffic after realizing her lesbianism and Julie was chasing her.
If anyone ever tells you we’re overreacting please point them in the direction of this thread. This is a real problem and we may have the opportunity to fix it.
Someone reblogged that liminal spaces post I made with “OPs a homophobe” and then linked to a post I made that said “asexuals belong in the LGBT community and there needs to be more non-sexualized LGBT spaces to accommodate them as well as minors and other ppl that don’t want to be in sexual environments” like yes me, a bisexual, is homophobic… because of a post I made… that said… we need to be more inclusive… for ppl in the LGBT community…..

Anonymous asked:
Are you a Gold Star lesbian? (Just in case you don't know what it means, a Gold Star lesbian is a lesbian that has never had sex with a guy and would never have any intentions of ever doing so)
I’m a filthy bisexual
