Wh-why are they rechargeable, OP? What is their use?
I was gonna make a joke but the real answer is probably worse than anything I could come up with: an engineer thinks maybe people would use their phones more (?) if the interaction was more natural, like when you interact with other people by touching them (?), so they developed synthetic flesh so your smartphone can respond to tactile stimulation such as tickling and caressing
Petition for, every couple years, scientists to just check in with normal people and catch up with what the fuck anybody in their right mind even wants
