An unexpected tenant—after at least three years, a cocoon resting on my mother’s cabinet eclosed this evening to reveal a handsome male Cecropia moth:
He flapped around my kitchen for a while before I managed to get him outside. Talk about a late bloomer!

he’s the largest moth native to North America so I would hope he is big large
they should be larger, make them bigger
Running across one of these on a tree when I was at camp in the 6th grade and losing my shit bc I didn't know moths could get that big and making the science teacher come tell me abt them
