no but imagine the tally marks turning black if their love is requited.
and then imagine the tally marks becoming a scar when the one they love dies.
Imagine someone with no tally marks meeting someone with 50 tally marks
Imagine someone with no tally marks starting to like someone with all tally marks scarred
imagine aromantics with no tally marks laughing at this tally mark bullshit system
imagine someone afraid of being in love suddenly getting a tally mark
imagine someone married with a single nice black tally mark has a new one just appear
imagine someone with a single scarred mark that refuses to love again gets a new mark and it’s black
imagine someone who falls in love too easily having a lot of marks
imagine nurses at old people homes taking care of people with scarred marks, black marks, and no marks

My main concern with sending you anon asks is that I am doing way too much work helping this A.I. figure out what crosswalks are.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Been getting a lot of asks about “NASA finding a parallel universe” or whatever and let me break it down.
It’s 90% sensationalism. ANITA, a detector in Antarctica has recently picked up some strange signals. The signals indicate that a very high energy particle (the neutrino) had passed through the earth without interacting with anything, something unexpected of a high energy particle.
So, here come the weird ideas. Scientists try to come up with ways of modifying our understanding of physics to make these detections more plausible. SOME of these require bizarre beyond the standard model ideas, like the one in the news. However there are much more likely answers, such as a common function of how physics normally works (won’t go into details here, but here’s a paper on it https://arxiv.org/abs/2001.01737) or simply a systematic explanation, like the signals bouncing off weird features in the ice and distorting the signal. Here’s another article: https://link.aps.org/doi/10.1103/PhysRevLett.123.091102
Conclusion? The news relies on article clicks and outrageous claims get those clicks.
It’s sort of like finding a $50 bill on the street. That’s weird, and not normal for $50 bills - they’re valuable and people tend to keep them close, or safely stored.
One *possible* explanation is that millionaire superhero Wruce Bayne is going around in a flying fox costume at night, stealthily planting the bills to help out the less fortunate. That *could* explain what’s going on. This is the ‘alternate universe where time moves backwards’ version of events.
OR... a freak accident occurred and it fell out of someone’s pocket and wasn’t seen until you came along. Unlikely, unintended, and relies on an accident and a lot of luck. It’s much less elegant and not something you can really test or repeat easily because the circumstances are so rare. But we all know that’s almost certainly what basically happened, even if the *exact* series of events aren’t known. This is the ‘I dunno man, the detector is weird some times and we don’t know everything yet’ version of events, and it’s a lot less fun, and produces way fewer clicks.
Owner asks dogs to hide because customer is scared of dogs
(via)
“There’s a customer coming, they’re afraid of dogs. Quickly, the customer is coming. Quick, the customer is coming. Tengheng, you go bring the little baby in as well. Go get Baby. Okay, okay, put them down… put. Good. Let Baby have some of this. Let Baby eat some.” (The cat’s name would be similar to something like Baby, Bubba, or Darling – an endearment used as a given name.)
C’EST QUOI GRITTY
Caption and English translation
Le Monde, a French newspaper, article from November 8th, 2020.
Title reads “your questions [about the US election]” A subscriber asks “What is Gritty?”. The response is as follows.
Goodevening,
If you are asking this question, you have probably heard about this furry orange ball which is none other than the Philidelphia Fliers NHL mascot, Gritty. Like the author of this article explains, Gritty has become a symbol of anti-fascism on social media and in protests against the Trump administration. Many people in Philidelphia (where the election results have just come out in favor of Joe Biden) have donned makeup in Gritty’s likeness to show support for Biden.
