• this father is showing up as a pillar of safety; he’s told his son he acknowledges and believes in the boy’s strength.

• the father is completely present and accepting of his son’s story and helps him tell it. When the son recognizes that his father was fully present and heard the story of his experience of pain, the boy calms completely.

This piece of video will now be at the very top of my teaching tools when training parents and caretakers to work with shock and trauma in infants. It’s one of the finest examples of exemplary parenting I have ever seen in my 35-year healing career. ❤️

anyway roger waters was a pretentious asshole, blamed everything on his father, could barely play bass, had david gilmour play it for him on some of his songs, tore apart the band, and now struts around on tour like he’s god. their genre was acid trip and roger acted like it was “too complex” for people to get, people just said it was a “”concept album””

My best guess is that it’s a motor pattern involved in a dream the cat is having - probably either grooming behavior or drinking. Either way, awwwwww.

We got asked if this is cute and okay. I can very happily say yes, this is stupid cute and those are happy porcupine noises. 

One of my favorite things about doing zoo work was all the noises you never realize the animals make when they’re excited or interested in a new thing. Coatimundis squeak and snuffle, and giant porcupines make that sound.
