honestly i gotta say, as stupid as staff is: it was pretty smart of them to make an introduction to post+ on a sideblog while they get a popular user to beta test the feature in the limelight. that way the negative reaction turns mostly into clowning on the user about how they would dare to try out a brand new tumblr feature, meanwhile the push for staff to rollback/redo/rethink this feature becomes like. a secondary concern
to be clear i know the majority of people aren't specifically trying to antagonize kaijuno, but the fact is any amount of death threats sent over this shit is too many. i also probably wouldn't have signed up to be the beta tester for a new tumblr feature (i know how tumblr users act) but if you're successful on a website and trying to get a small bit of extra money for medical bills i can see how this would seem like a feasible opportunity.
again i'm not defending post+, nor am i saying that the idea of subscription-based posting is something that shouldn't be criticized, but i am going to use my platform to say that antagonizing the person chosen to roll out a new feature is logically and morally pointless here. turn that attention towards telling staff to fuck off
