Photos during the Civil Rights movement were in Black and White because they were cheaper and because News Papers were in black and white (most of the people taking pictures were taking them to publish them).

The one I posted is fairly true to color. However a lot of space photos look way more vibrant (mine included) than what they look like to the naked eye. A lot of times what happens is they choose visible colors to represent ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light. In the industry, vibrant pictures like what you see from Hubble or whatever are called space porn lmao

I’ve been working on editing space images into “space porn”, specifically working with tilt shift. The photos were taken by Hubble but I processed and edited them into what they look like now. I emailed them to my old astro prof who thought they were “ethereal and god damn gorgeous” so I thought I’d post them lol
