It’s really weird but kinda heartwarming that in Japan it’s tradition to have KFC for Christmas dinner? Like Christmas isn’t a big holiday in Japan to begin with but in the 1970s KFC launched this ad campaign about having KFC for Christmas and it just took off and now KFC has Christmas wine and everything and you have to reserve KFC Christmas dinners in advance and it’s so weird but kinda cute?
There is an adorable pug in the film called JB, and when asked if he misses the dog, Taron had one response: “That fucking dog.” He added: “George, as he’s known, is very pretty and very cute, but he is not obedient. I’ve suffered urine, I’ve suffered anarchy and all manners of craziness with that bloody dog. They say don’t work with animals and children, and I’m sure children are tolerable, but don’t ever work with a pug…”

no idea how it came up, but my programming prof was talking about his friend who works for Nintendo Japan who’s secondary role is The Loud American, and my prof explained what that was and how it came about
see, in Japan you do not talk back to your boss. you just don’t, even if they have stupid ideas and want the company to act on them. Like Nissan did sometime back. But since the other employees couldn’t do anything about this terrible idea that would ruin the company, they called in an American who had no reservations about telling the boss that their stupid idea was a stupid idea
and that’s just become a role in Japanese businesses, where they keep an American on staff who plays up the American stereotype and tells the boss what the Japanese employees can’t or won’t out of societal norms

We got asked if this is cute and okay. I can very happily say yes, this is stupid cute and those are happy porcupine noises.
One of my favorite things about doing zoo work was all the noises you never realize the animals make when they’re excited or interested in a new thing. Coatimundis squeak and snuffle, and giant porcupines make that sound.

People always romanticize the idea of superhero AUs
Like, it would be a fucking dystopian horror
The world would look a lot more like X-Men than it would the Avengers
There would most definitely be the systematic murder of supers that the government deemed “too powerful”
And if there were a way to “test” for superhero abilities, there would be the systematic murder of children by the government. Racism would play a massive part in it as well, most supers being killed would most likely be people of color because the government would deem these people as “more dangerous” like they fucking do now.
It would be this macabre mix of 1984 and X-Men if you ask me, it’d be fucking horrifying.
