No I just grew up around Jewish people so I know a lot about the religion
I wonder what kind of symbolism they’re trying to get at
“There are a lot of giant robot shows in Japan, and we did want our story to have a religious theme to help distinguish us. Because Christianity is an uncommon religion in Japan we thought it would be mysterious. None of the staff who worked on Eva are Christians. There is no actual Christian meaning to the show, we just thought the visual symbols of Christianity look cool. If we had known the show would get distributed in the US and Europe we might have rethought that choice.” -Kazuya Tsurumaki, assistant director/art director on Neon Genesis Evangelion
eva is literally fake deep
tbh the Japanese sprinkling Christianity into their media like a cheap vaguely spooky seasoning is a tonic for my soul

Could you elaborate on the Neil Degrasse thing? I've never heard that about him before
ugh I don’t have the time to go through all my personal experiences with him but the dude is always like “ooohooohoh you celebrate new years and yet god is fake and religious people are stupid” and “uroufduoajif religion is the reason we don’t live in a utopia today” and “’gljadhfbksd YOUR BELIEF IN THE UNPROVEN MAKES YOU FUCKING STUPID AND YOU NEED TO DIE” and hey also he’s been accused of sexual harassment multiple times
Dude’s a cunt
here’s some whatever
Considering he was written to represent Jewish values, he should probably be Middle Eastern.

Someone edited R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion” to be in major instead of minor and it is absurd.
That’s me in the corner :D
That’s me in the spot :D light :D
Losing my religion XDDD
the funniest thing about this is it just sounds like every other r.e.m song that isn’t losing my religion

Are you Jewish?
No actually but I’ve grown up around it. When I was little my neighbor was this old jewish woman and she would babysit me sometimes and tell me stories from before and after the war. She had a number on her arm but she never told me anything about what happened in the camps. I had a few jewish friends growing up too. Like, in my 1st grade class, for show and tell around Hanukkah one of my classmates came in with a bunch of those little plastic dreidels and taught the class to play and I ended up going to her bat mitzvah. Later on in college one of my research associates was getting married and she was jewish and I went to that, hence the wedding story about the rabbi forgetting the glass
