Apparently we’re telling cop stories. I’m a cis white guy so historically I’ve had good luck with cops, but I also hate them because I’m queer and fuck cops for what they do to our community.

One day I’m driving home from the beach with my partner, it’s late afternoon, lovely and sunny out, we’re in a car share vehicle because it doesn’t make sense to own a vehicle in our particular city. I’m not driving erratically or speeding but suddenly a cop comes out of nowhere and pulls me over with lights and sirens on. Doesn’t even tell me why she pulled me over before basically screaming at me to get out of the car and demanding my licence, all with her hand on her weapon. Then tells me she’s going to breathalyzer me and if I refuse it’s immediate jail time and a huge fine. At this point, I’m terrified but I haven’t been drinking so the test comes back negative. After that her aggressive demeanour softens slightly so I manage to ask why she pulled me over and breathalyzed me. She profiled me for being young and driving a car share vehicle. I never did anything wrong. Apparently the city passed a law saying cops could do these checks on anyone for any reason and a quick google search after confirmed all of that.

This sounds like something Miami would do ngl
