Dealing with cops is hard as a ND person. I'm white and feminine presenting so obviously I don't get in police encounters often, but when I do they always actively make the encounters more excruciating by interpreting my normal behavior as suspicious (lack of eye-contact, not responding to attempts at small talk, etc.) Then the possibility of being falsely accused of something because of these behaviors makes me visibly anxious, then that makes the cops more suspicious. It's hard to have sympathy for people with a mind-numbingly simplistic understanding of behavior that also just happens to act as justification for harassing and hurting others.
