I called the cops when I was experiencing domestic violence once. By the time they arrived the incident was over and I didn't want to press charges but the pig who took my statement promised my (now ex) partner would only be held overnight and would do court ordered DV counseling - and I'd wanted him to do dv counseling for a long time. So I agreed, except they charged him with multiple indictable offences (akin to felonies) and opposed bail so he was in maximum security prison for six months. He only got out cos I refused to co-operate with the cops any further, and ofc they threatened to arrest me for that (I was 20 years old and pregnant). The best part tho was that one of the cops involved in my case was the bully who used to beat me up in school. ACAB
