At Pride 2019 in Washington DC, there was a man standing by us that kept spontaneously fainting/collapsing. We didn't know if it was dehydration, some bad drugs, or some kind of other neurological event. We were extra worried because the first time he fell, we thought he hit his head on the concrete, so he might also have a concussion and definitely needed to go to the hospital. We flagged down a cop (he was maybe 10 feet away and was just standing around) and asked him what we should do, and if he could call an ambulance or help us take him to the first aid tent.
The officer just mumbled something and walked off.
In the end, it took 4 people to carry him over to the ambulance a block away.
The next day, at a different Pride event in DC, there was a booth for the DC police with signs saying stuff like "Find out what we're doing to help the LGBTQ+ community" and all that bullshit. Every time I walked by I wanted to just yell at them, but I knew I'd get arrested in no time.
Later that night, I saw 5 or 6 officers full on tackle a guy and pin him down on the ground because he was drunk and stumbling around. They couldn't just lead him over to a bench and give him some water and a bag of chips -- they had to use violence.
Cops don't care about anyone other than their own and never have.
Cops at the DC March for Science in 2017 tackled a guy for not wearing a fucking shirt and we just all stood in shock because it’s like a fucking protest and you’re all hands on deck for a shirtless dude??????
