Bread is one of the first ‘things’ we ever made. And I fully believe that because of this, it’s engraved into our monkey brains to love the smell of baking bread and the feelings of happiness and safety that come with the smell
No you’re so right. And I think there’s a reason these things are so popular amongst nursing homes as well. When you have a brain deterioration disease the last things to leave you are 1. Singing 2. Hold baby 3. Bread 4. Pet animal
My grandma in the nursing home had a cabbage patch doll that she would take care of with her life and so many others did too. And they would have service animals come in every so often and no matter how grumpy or unattached they were, they’d light up at the sight of a puppy going for them
We talk about instincts like fight or flight all the time but I think there’s also instincts ingrained into us to take care of things, to love things, to make things like bread to share with others. Humans are a social animal and I think that’s so beautiful
1. Sing
2. Hold baby (doesn't matter what kind)
3. BREAD
4. Pet animal
5. ??
6. Profit
