As she performs, her video editor retouches her skin, hair, facial features, and lighting during the song so that by the end everything looks “right”…

It’s worth the watch to see what a massive difference lighting, make up, hairstyling and image editing can do to a person. Shows anyone with access to all these things can look pretty damn great too, not just celebs.
Sia - Elastic Heart
It is sad to see such a backlash to Sia’s beautiful music video, “Elastic Heart.” People are calling it “pedophilia” and saying it is disturbing seeing a man and a child dance together, seemingly naked, in a “sexual” manner. I think the saddest part about these allegations is how conditioned many people’s brains have become to hypersexualized music videos. When other artists perform some sort of fellatio on inanimate objects, no one is outraged because we are so overexposed to sex, but when raw human emotions and interactions come out, it obviously has to do with sex. Many people can’t see any form of body contact, whether it is modern dance or symbolism for a father embracing their child, as anything other than sexual. When I watched this video I saw these animalistic features in two people trapped in a literal and figurative cage. The girl could escape, but the man could not. After I looked up the meaning behind the video, I saw that Sia’s father had dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder, and it was something both she and he struggled with emotionally and seemingly physically. Also, Sia said herself the two dancers represent two sides of herself at war. To dismiss someones painful memories as being lecherous because of something so simple and natural as the human touch is ludicrous. Modern dance has the power to tell very emotional stories, especially so when there are two dancers present. Not all music videos are meant to be sexual. Especially this one.
Ok, God, I am fucking wheezing, I got trained to work with mice today since I’ll need them for some experiments and the guy who trained me was like, “Yeah ok so if there’s a day where you just absolutely cannot get your mice to cooperate you can always do this” and picks up this cone-shaped bag and just put the mouse face-first into it and shows it to me and I lose my shit because deadass it was a piping-bag of mouse. Like, the whole mouse was pressed into this cone, fur and ears and feet all pressed up against the plastic, tail sticking up absurdly out of the top of the thing. It was so unimaginably fucking funny but like the mouse was perfectly ok with it, there’s a hole for air at the bottom so she could breathe and all but it was genuinely the most absurd thing I have witnessed in months

The fact that not only did dream make a song/music video about how not taking your meds is good and will make you happier (terrible message for anyone let alone a young fan base), but also forced an animation team that basically only had experience animating Minecraft to animate something completely different from their usual style in a few weeks with NO pay and there are still people who think he’s not a complete asshole is astounding to me

i looked into one of the people who is sort of the face of “Phyre Productions”… well, guess what? they’re a 16 year old dream fan!
dream not only DID NOT PAY the people who made the video, FORCE THEM TO WORK ON A SHORT DEADLINE, he also used UNDERAGE FAN LABOR. ON A DEADLINE. TO MAKE A MUSIC VIDEO THAT HE PROFITS FROM.

oh, addendum to this, too: a friend and I also looked into the person who produced the music for him, and guess what? we’re pretty sure he’s underage as well! i’m not sure if he’s a fan, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with him hiring young people to do work for him if he likes their work, but this REEKS of taking advantage of teenagers because they will work for cheap or FREE because they are fans :/

Our cat would sometimes find mice in our house and give them to us as “gifts” by dropping them my chest when I was sleeping and it was…. not pleasant
