For most of my schooling I had no idea if Fidel Castro was a ‘good guy’ or a 'bad guy’ because of the way my history books talked about him. Because of the way the media talked about him. There was this dichotomy about him and I couldn’t make out what this guy was. I felt deep down that he was a terrible man. I’d heard about the things he did to his people, I’d heard the horror stories. But the way the people on the news talked about him… the way my history book talked about him. It made me second guess how evil this man was. The way the media and the books talked about him obscured from me how evil that man was for YEARS. And I know I’m not the only one. I wasn’t the only one confused about what to make of that man, as if it was somehow up for debate about whether he was 'good’ or not. And this has happened before. That’s how it was in World War II, history books and the media obscuring how evil a person could be. The world had no idea how bad Hitler was when he was in power. The world had no idea how bad Castro was when he was in power.
That’s how fucking dangerous it can be to blindly listen to the media about things like that. Because it’s literally so easy to obscure from people how evil a being is. The way information about Castro was presented to me made me think he wasn’t all that bad. They can present to you with a smiling face the evils of the world and you would have no idea, unless you put in the effort to look deeper, which is sadly an effort lost amongst most.

4 word horror story
“I heard my wife knock on the bathroom door, but then I remembered…. our bathroom doesn’t have a door”
I’m sorry, but the confusion of why your bathroom doesn’t have a door far outweighs any feelings of horror this might evoke.
can’t afford door.. the horror here is the realities of life
So what fuck was your wife knocking on
this dick
It’s not even 4 words???

Many classic horror icons, such as Giger’s Xenomorphs, Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head, and other disturbing creatures, share common characteristics. Pale skin, dark, sunken eyes, elongated faces, sharp teeth, and the like. These images inspire horror and revulsion in many, and with good reason. The characteristics shared by these faces are imprinted in the human mind.
Many things frighten humans instinctively. The fear is natural, and does not need to be reinforced in order to terrify. The fears are species-wide, stemming from dark times in the past when lightning could mean the burning of your tree home, thunder could be the approaching gallops of a stampede, predators could hide in darkness, and heights could make poor footing lethal.
The question you have to ask yourself is this:
What happened, deep in the hidden eras before history began, that could effect the entire human race so evenly as to give the entire species a deep, instinctual, and lasting fear of pale beings with dark, sunken eyes, razor sharp teeth, and elongated faces?
Pale skin and sunken eyes are synonymous with illness and death. You instinctively fear people who are ill or dead, as to not catch an illness yourself. As for sharp teeth and elongated faces: characteristics of predators. Sharp teeth means carnivorous. Long face (with front facing eyes) means good depth perception for hunting. The pale skin, sunken eyes, sharp teeth, and long face trope is a combination of those instinctual fears, producing a stronger fear/reaction.

The millenials are asleep; post editorial cartoons
There’s so many great things about this:
- the really really poor perspective on the bed and nearly everything else in relation to each other
- the phone that’s just a rectangle with the words “Pokemon Go”
- the implication of a wall behind the bed but then the chair seemingly also existing behind the bed
- that misshapen bulbous shirt, just to drive home how much this kid love this particular app
- a child using both “crummy” and “pokemon creatures”

The evaluation of Spongebob Squarepants. From 1999-2014.
I don’t know them last two them ain’t my sponge bobs
That last one..ew
his arms just get higher and higher…can someone analyze for me the subtle changes between them all. I know something is off but I can’t identify it
He gets better drawn throughout the years, as with most cartoons. It takes away character. It doesn’t have that “hand drawn” feel anymore.
