It's worse than that actually. These type of motherfuckers tend to refer to themselves as protest "marshals" and will actively snitch out anyone getting rowdy (especially anyone in bloc) to the cops. They were EXTREMELY prolific during the liberal ass dogshit days of "anti war" protests in the 00s, but you still see em around pretty regularly. never trust a motherfucker in a vest.
This applies to the UK too. There was a demo about 10/15 years ago that had a Tranquility Team. They were basically middle class bellends with psychology degrees who were there to snuff out anybody who got mildly cross. Utter shitblokes.
