Hey, ever heard about possible scams where someone follows and messages you (out of nowhere) and asks you to signal boost a tumblr post asking for money on Paypal for medical expenses? Because someone just messaged me and I'm wary since the blog only has a few (<20 as of 5AM UTC) posts all reblogged yesterday within 2 minutes straight from the original posters. I'm fairly certain it's an actual human behind the whole thing, and reverse image search didn't turn up anything, but it looks like a fake blog for an elaborate scam to me. I've been on this hellsite for years, but I don't know if this modus operandi is unheard of. I'm gonna send you the blog URL on another ask if you want to see for yourself on the offchance that I'm wrong, and I'm shunning an innocent person
Yeah that’s a pretty common scam. If they include a picture for their fundraiser or anything try reverse image searching it and if you find that image anywhere else it’s almost definitely a scam
