Even as a hardcore anticapitalist I do think the like, romanticizing of communism, especially the Soviet Union, is unproductive at best and actively harmful at worst. Like in an ideal world I’d love to see capitalism be replaced with a less cruel system, but also being online and just being like “communism is the solution” is about as productive as simping for capitalism, and it’s not a replacement for community building and mutual aid and trying to improve people’s lives in the present instead of waiting for a theoretical day where capitalism just magically falls or whatever.
Yeah I’m not exactly a fan of capitalism either and honestly all ideologies have their drawbacks but to put communism on a pedestal as the least problematique one is like saying Regan was your favorite president because you stan his movies
