I have an old torn up pillowcase and one of my rats has really bad seperation anxiety (and just anxiety in general) so I took the pillowcase and cut a little square out of it and gave it to the rat because it smells like me and now he’ll go to sleep wherever I put his little “blankie” oh my god it’s so cute

My rats are potty trained so I’ll have them run about on my bed and I have about 80000 blankets and let me tell you they go fuckin nuts for blanket forts. They’re the best blanket fort makers I’ve ever seen. I have a really soft Sherpa blanket and let me tell you. They’re wild about it. I need to get tiny rat Sherpa blankets

I had my ratties out and my roommate and I got on the subject of what makes the alpha rat the alpha and I was like “idk. Age, size… size of testicles are all probably factors” and so naturally my roommate is like “dude I’m older, bigger, and have bigger testicles than both of them!” And I was like “yes Jared you would be the alpha rat I suppose” to which he responded by standing up off the couch, showing my rats his testicles, and whispering to them “I’m the alpha now”

me: okay it’s time for bed

my rats: okay!!!! we sleep too!!!

Gave my rats their first bath today as one has hygiene problems and the other has problems with excessive oily fur and they were actually pretty fond of it once they got over the initial shock, and they practically fell asleep in my arms when I was drying them off
