Why bring back old memes when we can back this song?

Idk how many other people experience this but judging by the prevalence of nightmares I’m guessing it’s not common but;
I have never had a nightmare. Because I do not experience emotions in my dreams. Oh, I’ve had plenty of dreams with unpleasant imagery. I’ve had dreams of being murdered, I’ve had dreams of blood and gore, I’ve had dreams of zombies, aliens, war of the worlds, monsters, raptors, you name it. I don’t think, imagery-wise, any of my dreams would qualify as “pleasant”. They’re weird. They often feature death. They don’t sound the same as how most people describe their dreams as being.
But like, I think it’s because on a subconscious level, I’m always aware I’m in a dream. Not lucid dreaming in the sense that I can control my dreams or anything (although I have had a few of those), but rather lucidity on a subconscious level, despite that being fairly contradictory. I experience dreams similar to how I experience movies, maybe even more apathetically actually. I don’t often make the actual connection of “Oh! Dream!” In my dreams, but rather, I participate in dreams with more of a “I’m just along for the ride” type attitude.
It’s weird.

2004 is calling me… whispering
numa numa yay
the funny thing about this is I sincerely have followers that were born in the same month i discovered this flash video on newgrounds
Ah, yes, 2004… an excellent vintage. Truly a most delectable meme.
Pre-YouTube, Pre-Monetisation…what a time to be alive,
a superb old fashioned meme

The thing is that they’re not nightmares, though. I’m not scared. I’m almost emotionless and if anything methodical in my dreams where some sort of catastrophe is happening. I’m just, I’m not scared or upset or worried and instead I usually behave logically and calmly like I was trained to handle that type of situation
A few years ago I made a post about how we were entering a period of micromemes. Memes that only lasted a few days/weeks. Meme production over the last few years has only increased to the point of there being a new meme a few times a week. Meme production will increase, quicker and quicker into infinity. I warned against the dangers of a meme singularity. I fear that soon, the meme singularity (memeularity) will be upon us. Every meme will exist within each other into infinity. It’s already happening. Meme fusion is just a cheap tactic to make micromemes seem stronger. We will soon be splicing memes into an unrecognizable mutant disaster. The memepocalypse is upon us. I tried to warn you.

I don’t think it really matters what I eat. All of my dreams are like that. Really long with multiple ‘scenes’. More often than not apocalyptic in nature. Very strange and otherworldly. The only thing I’ve known to affect my dreams is when I have a really high fever, and I’ll get dreams that go in and out of me dreaming and me being conscious and hallucinating

She said she was a monster because she was an assassin. Being rendered infertile made her feel unnatural, made her feel cut off from the natural world. But it was her actions that defined her. Her murdery actions. That’s what “monster” meant.
you’re a fucking nightmare my dude lol

Zola’s story here is a string of tweets about this wild story where these two girls, both sex workers, go to Florida for a weekend and it’s just… just read it. It’s absolutely wild.
And people on tumblr (and on tumblr only, I’ve noticed) are flipping out because “this story isn’t funny, it’s about sex workers, sex working isn’t funny” and it’s like.. that ain’t what’s funny about it. The way the story is told, so casually and with side comments from the author is what makes it funny. But teenagers on this website, with no concept of anything, are like “THIS STORY TALKS ABOUT SEX WORKERS! IT’S NOT FUNNY AT ALL! SEX WORK IS NOT FUNNY!” And while they are correct, sex work isn’t funny, THAT’S NOT WHAT THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE STORY IS. THAT’S NOT WHY PEOPLE THINK IT’S FUNNY. And some people on this website can’t grasp the concept that while a story contains serious undertones/topics, it can still be humorous.
