Pog as slang comes from the twitch emote, taken from a video with pogs in them. What is a pog? A small cap from a juice drink that is traded and used in games by 90s kids. The juice drink was called POG, short for passion fruit orange guava. Passion fruit was named after its flower, the passion flower. Passion flowers were called "flower of the five wounds" in Portuguese, eventually being translated as passion fruit by the English in reference to the passion of Jesus, aka his last moments alive before being crucified.
I love history, language, words, communication, and humans.
I was going through my pictures earlier today when I realized I have a lot of backgrounds, so I decided to make a masterpost!!
(None of these pictures are mine and I take no credit for them, these are just some I have collected)
I put them into categories to make it easier for you:
- Nature/scenery backgrounds
- Pixel backgrounds
- Sky backgrounds
- Tile/repeat backgrounds
- Gradient backgrounds
- Floral backgrounds
I’ll be adding to these pages as I find more~
I worked hard on this so it’d help a lot if you liked/reblogged this post :)
Hope it helps!
If you’re a nature lover, then you know just how calming the outdoors can be. That’s why it can be beneficial to carry a piece of Mother Nature with us, especially when we’re surrounded by four walls. Luckily, Etsy shop Teeny Tiny Planet preserves real, dried flowers in elegant, mini glass bottles. These pieces are then attached to antique charms and luminous crystals to make a truly enchanting, one-of-a-kind terrarium necklace that’s reminiscent of the comforting woodland world.
“My true love has always been the little things in Nature,” explains teenytinyplanet’s owner. To see the designer’s delicate creations for yourself, you can visit her Etsy store. (Source)
i know a lot of these background masterposts probably already exist, but i really love doing masterposts cause they’re really useful for me and hopefully other people??

Shengsi, an archipelago of almost 400 islands at the mouth of China’s Yangtze river, holds a secret shrouded in time – an abandoned fishing village being reclaimed by nature. These photos by Tang Yuhong, a creative photographer based in Nanning, take us into this lost village on the beautiful archipelago.
I see it a lot more in college that I did in high school but its so nice to see men that don’t give a shit about what other people think of them doing “feminine” things. Like, they just do it because they genuinely like to. I had a neighbor who was on the football team who had a few shirts that had floral patterns on them and he was always like “I fuckin love flowers look how pretty this shirt is bro” or there was a guy upstairs that would paint his nails light pink because that’s his favorite color, and I think my second favorite thing is that other guys just,, accepted it. “Yeah dude that flower shirt is tight as hell”
