Well for starters Mars doesn’t even have a magnetic field, let alone an atmosphere. There’s no way it could hold on to any air, it’d all be stripped away by solar wind. No magnetic field, no air. The prevailing theory up until recently, was to fucking nuke the core of the planet to re-melt it, and start up the dynamo effect again, in which mars would have a magnetic field and be able to hold onto an atmosphere
