#the best thing I ever learned about the David is that he made it as a big ‘fuck you’ #according to one of my art teachers #he was given a shit piece of marble that made it incredibly difficult to work with #and it was done on purpose #and so insteaded of throwing a bitch fit or saying he couldn’t work with the marble- #thus proving that he ‘wasn’t that great of an artist’ #he looked at the marble and said ‘no fuck you I will make this my masterpiece and it will be the greatest thing I’ve ever made’ #which of course pissed people off when he did just that #I’m telling ya’ll right now that Renaissance art history is the greatest thing #it’s all a bunch of divas acting overly dramatic and getting into passing contests over who was the better artist #and being commissioned by the church to create propaganda #and then using said propaganda art to add content that subtly undermines the church #I once wrote a ten page paper on that specifically #and let me tell you: the biggest divas were the sculptors (x)
I had a dream last night that the new hot meme was editing silver metallic balloons shaped like letters that said “BIG FUCK” into the background of gifs/photographs. And it became this a contest among editors to see who could make the most realistic balloon edit. Like ppl would be putting them in the background of a gif and having them sway in the wind and giving them shadows. So there were just a ton of pictures that were completely normal except somewhere in the background there was “BIG FUCK”

my mom is 61 and her bf is a huge nerd and he’s teaching her to play magic the gathering and he had her watch avatar the last airbender with him and his ringtone is terra’s theme from final fantasy 6 and he paints pictures of sephiroth. my mom’s bf is nerdier than i’ll ever be.
and she does all these pinterest crafts and now she makes little bejeweled vials of healing potions for him and his buddies. my little geek heart can’t handle all this.
edit: just picture a 60-something woman with a VERY thick minnesotan accent saying “mike is having me watch the naruto”
just fyi my mom is now 62 and they finished watching “the naruto”
if i had told my 13-year-old self that this is what my mom’s hallway would look like when i was 30 i wouldn’t have believed me
Why are these arguments still happening?
My friend and I had a conversation about this once cause she kept changing her outfit bc get bf wouldn’t approve. I was saying she should wear what she wants, that she’s not doing anything wrong, and how men are gonna be tryna get her no matter what she wears. She told me I wouldn’t get it cause I’d never had bf.
