So, I have a bunch of letters and post cards and military documents from my great grandfather when he was enlisted during WWI. It’s so weird reading these letters and looking at these postcards and pictures, honestly. My great grandpa was a pilot. Like, a biplane pilot. And there’s pictures of him posing with his plane and… He was flying a biplane in a war just 12 years after the Wright brothers first flew one. And I’m looking though all of these old documents because I want to bring them in for my history class and it kinda makes me sad that I’m the only one in my family scrambling to collect old letters and photos and documents. I’m the only one in my family- my ENTIRE family- that holds our history. I’m the only one that can tell our story. It makes me sad that if I hadent hoarded any piece of our history I could find, it would all be lost.
