I probably shouldn't be surprised about this, but a lot of people missing the point here. the joke isn't "terfs calling Sigourney weaver, a hot woman, unattractive" and tbh I think seeing this post and going "terfs are so stupid because Sigourney weaver is obviously gorgeous" is even potentially harmful or at least hurtful
the joke here is terfs seeing a picture of Sigourney Weaver, famous actress and cis woman, but because they were told its a picture of a trans woman they're immediately yakking about how 'clockable' she is
Sigourney Weaver / production still from Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979)
Babe are you okay I saw you reblog Sigourney Weaver / production still from Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979)
The commentary by Ridley Scott he did for the Quadrilogy Boxset about this scene is hilarious. He said “She refused to pull up her panties and shave at all. We had to pay someone in 1979 something like 5 thousand dollars to air brush out all her minge hair on every single cell of film. It took weeks!”
pathetic. release the bush cut.
I’m gonna pay someone 5k dollars to restore the bush, then add a septum ring and choker and
been thinking about sigourney weaver‘s ‘manic mondays’ laugh lately
happy sigourney weaver manic monday
my aesthetic is that one scene in holes where sigourney weaver paints her nails with rattlesnake venom infused nail polish and claws jon voight in the face
Legendary photography Gregory Crewdson works within a photographic tradition that combines the documentary style of William Eggleston and Walker Evans with the dream-like vision of filmmakers such as Stephen Spielberg and David Lynch.
The Concept of Non-Photography:
Non-photography, theorized by François Laruelle, is about devorcing all context from a photgraph. There is no concept of a subject, photographer, composition, pretext, or context. It exsists in a void as a sort of non-thing, as if there was no sentient being able to percive and analize it. It exsist’s merely as an aeasthetic, but not even really as an aesthetic because that is a philosophy in itself.
He states that the photograph is not a picture of reality or even a copy or abstraction. It is a fiction that is “wholly real but in its own mode”- the fictional realm. The photograph is unique unto itself, an unlimited opening into the world occasioned by lights and shadows in time, but is in no way constrained by either the experiential universe or the theoretical and art historical preconditions set up for it.”
Cyberpunk Potography by ANDEWNEF
I’ve always been inspired by photographers like Liam Wong, Noealz, and Steve Roe who became famous for doing cyberpunk and street photography in Japan and South Korea. I wanted to see if I could capture Taiwan in the same way…
However unlike them I’ve never been able to gain much of a following for my work —let alone sell any prints or make money. I don’t know if it’s because my work just simply isn’t that good, or I haven’t made the right connections with the right people… or a bit of both.
I know I have a terrible attitude and am horrible at making/maintaining friendships. In fact many people have accused me of being either a sociopath or on the spectrum. Maybe I’m both? I don’t know…
But the way I see it is that I’d just rather not deal with people. Why should the beauty and value of my work have to be tied to and artificially inflated by whatever relationship or connection I’ve made? Why do I have to play the stupid game of others when all I want to do is shoot, edit, repeat?
In response people often tell me to, “Just shoot for fun, or quit crying and figure out a way to turn your photograpahy into a successful business.”
Perhaps they’re right. Or perhaps not. Maybe if I just fully embrace who I am instead of trying to compromise to meet the expectations of society then things will work out.
Or maybe I’ll be forced to face the harsh reality that my failure to conform, adapt, and improve will result in me being a complete failure who must now fade into the great abyss and join the mass graveyard of failed artists no one ever heard of.
I guess the results of this ad will be a good indicator of what’s to come…
